I wish

I wish I could lend you my brain,
Maybe you’d understand the pain—
The constant battle in my mind,
The struggles no one ever finds.

I wish I could lend you my eyes,
Maybe you’d see through the lies—
Wishing my body was thinner,
Standing, crying in the mirror.

I wish I could lend you my hand,
Maybe you'd then understand
The ache of needing help, yet scared to ask,
Hiding behind a happy mask.

I wish you could feel what it's like to pretend,
To fight the storm you cannot end—
But still, I rise and face each day,
In silent strength, I find my way.

For anyone who’s ever struggled with the weight of silent battles—you're not alone.
We carry our pain, but we don’t have to carry it alone.
If you’re struggling, please reach out. There’s always someone who will listen. (Lifeline 13 11 14 / Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636)
